The purpose of this module is to presenting Asperger’s Syndrome through "Theory of Mind" the ability to attribute mental states—to oneself and others
Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:

Know the difference between Autism, Asperger’s, and Social Anxiety
Understand “Theory of Mind” as it exists in Asperger’s.
Learn why group therapy is often the treatment of choice for Asperger’s children.

Intended Audience
Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Addiction Therapists 
Author Bio
J. GEOFF MAGNUS, LCSW, Ph.D. Geoff Magnus, Ph.D., LCSW is Assistant Clinical Professor of psychiatry at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, IL, where he has been teaching since 1993.  Among the courses he teaches are Essentials of Patient Care, Personality Disorders, Neuropsychiatry, Consultative Behavioral Medicine in Primary Care, Psychotherapy and Communication Skills. He has been conducting social groups for children and adolescents with Asperger’s Syndrome for 12 years.  He writes a regular column on clinical issues in the newsletter of the Illinois Society for Clinical Social Work and is in private practice in Rockford.
