Ethics issues relating to Severing Family Ties.
Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
• Mandated Reporting
• What are reasonable efforts to keep family together
• What is termination of rights
• What are the child’s interests
• Documentation from therapist important
• What kind of documentation is needed
• Reporting abuse and neglect
• Siblings’ rights

Author Bio
ANITA WEINBERG, J.D - Anita Weinberg, JD, MSW.  Anita Weinberg is a Clinical Professor and the Director of ChildLaw Policy and Legislative programs at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She also oversees the dual-degree J.D.-M.S.W. program and interdisciplinary activities between the law school’s ChildLaw Center and the broader University community—schools and departments engaged in the study of children and families.  

Prior to working at Loyola Chicago, Professor Weinberg was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration for nine years, where she developed and taught a course on Social Work and the Law. Professor Weinberg also represented children and parents in abuse and neglect proceedings in the Juvenile Court of Cook County, Illinois.
