Author Bio
ROBERT NEIMEYER, Ph.D. - Robert Neimeyer, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Memphis, where he also maintains an active clinical practice. He has published 14 books, including Death Anxiety Handbook, Personal Meanings of Death; Dying: Facing the Facts; and most recently, Lessons of Loss: A Guide to Coping. Dr. Neimeyer is the editor of the respected international journal, Death Studies and is President of the Association for Death Education and Counseling. In recognition of his contributions, he has been granted the Distinguished Research Award by the University of Memphis, has been designated Distinguished Psychologist of the Year by the Tennessee Psychological Association, and has been made a Fellow of Division 12 (Clinical Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.
