Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
• Families of dying patients -- how to work with denial and when to discuss
• Systematic research on “normal” grieving and loss processes in the general population
• What distinguishes healthy family coping and adaptation

Author Bio
Froma Walsh, MSW, Ph.D. is the Mose and Sylvia Firestone Professor Emerita at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, and co-director of the Center for Family Health at the University of Chicago. Her books include: Strengthening Family Resilience, Normal Family Processes, Living Beyond Loss: Death in the Family, Spiritual Resources in Family Therapy, and Women and Families.  She is a popular speaker and lectures internationally on topics related to helping families overcome serious life crises and adversity.
