The purpose of this module is to present brain injury and the recovery of self and compromised functioning
Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
Brain injury as a blow to the integrity of the self beyond any compromised functioning
Shoring up the shattered sense of self and core identity before trying to resolve other conflictual issues

Intended Audience
Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Addiction Therapists 
Author Bio
LAURENCE MILLER, Ph.D. Laurence Miller, Ph.D. is the author of Inner Natures: Brain, Self, and Personality; Freud’s Brain: Neuropsychodynamic Foundations of Psychoanalysis; Shocks to the System: Psychotherapy of Traumatic Disability Syndromes, and Treatment of the Brain Injured Patient:  Reclaiming the Shattered Self.  A psychologist based in Boca Raton, Florida, he specializes in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, forensic psychology, and business psychology. Currently Dr. Miller is the Police Psychologist for the West Palm Beach Police Department, a Forensic Psychological Examiner for the Palm Beach County Court, a Certified Trainer by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, an Instructor at the Criminal Justice Institute of Palm Beach County and Florida Atlantic University, and conducts continuing educational programs and training seminars across the U.S. and Canada.
