This module provides a discussion about children who kill and how to see patterns and how to intervene.
Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
Description of children who kill
Discussion regarding patterns of behavior
Attachments, how these children attach or the nature of their attachments
How the minds turns from ‘you hurt me to how I’m going to hurt you back’
Discussion about interventions and treatment

Intended Audience
Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Addiction Therapists
Author Bio
JAMES GARBARINO, Ph.D. - Dr. Garbarino served as President of Erickson Institute for Advanced Study In Child Development before returning to Cornell University.  He has served as consultant or advisor to a wide range of organizations, and in 1991 he undertook missions for UNICEF to assess the impact of the Gulf War upon children in Kuwait and Iraq.  Recipient of many national awards for his work on behalf of abused and neglected children, and for nationally significant contributions to child protection, he has authored or edited sixteen books and received the Silver Award at 1981 International Film and Television Festival of New York for co-authoring, “Don’t Get Stuck There,” a film on adolescent abuse.
