Author Bio
WILLIAM PORTER, Ph.D. - Dr. William Porter received a doctorate in Child Clinical Psychology in 1978 from the University of Denver. He presently works in Student Achievement Services in the Cherry Creek School District, where he has supervised mental health services, secondary special education, students with emotional and behavior problems, and children involved in out-of-district placements. Over the years he has been instrumental in the development of programs which address outdoor therapy, suicide prevention, home-alone situations, and adolescent runaways, in addition to intervention programs for children’s and adolescents’ needs. Currently he is working to develop a safe climate for children in school and communities through his authoring of Bully Proofing Your Schools, a program which trains personnel and develops character in students.
