This program focuses on the challenges and difficult topics that caregivers must address as the disease progresses. Topics include: changes that occur in mid to late stage, core principles in Alzheimer’s care, activities, tolerance levels, naps, repetitive calling out, sexuality and intimacy, pain management and incontinence and toileting.
Course Objective

Upon completion of this training, the participant will:

• Have a better understanding of the disease and how it affects each
person in a different way.
• Learn to use three core principles in dementia care.
• Learn principles and techniques that help provide solutions to
challenges that occur in the mid to late stages of Alzheimer’s.
