Course Objective
This program provides clinicians with the opportunity to learn about:
Competency-based approaches with the narrative/constructivist approach
How the clinician acts as a facilitator who helps the client generate new stories of strength, hope, and optimism
Competency-based theory and practice

Author Bio
STEVEN FRIEDMAN, Ph.D. Steven Friedman, PhD is a psychologist and family therapist at the Braintree Mass. Center of the Harvard Community Health Plan. He received his Ph.D. from Boston University in 1971, and is the author and co-author of several books on Brief Treatment, including The First Session in Brief Therapy, co-authored with Simon Budman and Michael Hoyt; and The New Language of Change: Constructive Collaboration in Psychotherapy. Both books are available through Guilford Press.
